René finds himself in women’s underwear within the dungeons of the General's castle until Lieutenant Gruber comes to his rescue. He returns just in time to receive a briefing from Michelle of the Resistance about a camera intended to capture images of the château's safe. Later that evening, Helga and the General plan to have dinner at Café René, but Herr Flick interrupts and sends Helga away, leaving the General to endure Edith's awkward attempts at seduction before he can escape. Meanwhile, René manages to enter the château, unaware that the safe is hidden in Lieutenant Gruber’s room.
