Professor Lismore and his daughter Mave have traveled from Boston to Texas in search of the legendary Druid stones. Favor informs Jim Lark, who had made unwelcome advances towards Mave, to collect his wages the next day. Lark and two fellow drovers overhear the Professor's metaphorical remarks about the significance of the stones. After receiving their pay, the trio abducts the Professor and Mave, intent on coercing the Professor into revealing the whereabouts of the so-called "treasure."
