Following the murder of a police officer's son, Logan and Barek uncover that young Joe Long's death was a tragic error. Their inquiry reveals a feud between two mafia factions, but Logan starts to suspect that the real culprits may be corrupt officers in league with the mob. As they zero in on a specific cop, the duo faces the moral dilemma of persuading his daughter to betray him for their case. Meanwhile, the officer and his attorney exploit Logan's troubled past, prompting Deakins to reconsider Logan's position on the force.
