Big Jim finds himself on the brink of execution for allegedly trying to kill his wife, but just in time, Tilly chooses not to testify against him, leading to the charges being dropped. Meanwhile, Premier Jack Lang recognizes the growing threat of the ultra-nationalist New Guard and promises Bill Mackay the position of NSW Police Commissioner if he can eliminate them. After his wife leaves him and takes the children, Frank teams up with Nellie as they plot their escape from Razorhurst in search of a fresh start in Queensland. However, Guido Calletti's ambitions to take over Kate's cocaine trade are overshadowed by yet another confrontation between him and Frank over Nellie.
