During lunch, the pilgrims discover a playful young boy named Chou attempting to swipe their food. Monkey decides to take him home and quickly finds himself infatuated with Chou's mother, Shugyoku. Two years prior, Chou lost his father to a ferocious fire-breathing Tiger Demon, but Shugyoku abhors violence, urging Monkey to stay out of it. Choosing to pause their journey to India, Monkey remains with Shugyoku and Chou. This leaves Tripitaka and the others wondering if they'll ever reunite with Monkey again.
