Dante is abducted by Tosca, an agent from the Orchard who intends to leverage him to locate Travis, whom she believes holds the secret to The Divinity Cluster. In the midst of the kidnapping, Caravaggio becomes infected with a virus that awakens a sinister alter ego. Meanwhile, Navarre, a renegade scientist from the Orchard, boards The Tulip, eager to assist Luc in rescuing Dante. As Percy scrambles to prevent the ship from self-destructing due to Caravaggio's chaos, The Tulip faces yet another intrusion, this time from Salomea, a Raider who claims allegiance to Travis.
