Path to World War (S01E05)

As the American circumstances grow increasingly dire, Benjamin Franklin arrives in Paris and persuades the French to support the struggle against Britain. Simultaneously, British General William Howe inflicts a severe defeat on George Washington's forces at the Battle of Brandywine. In the North, American General Horatio Gates achieves a pivotal victory at the Battle of Saratoga, ultimately swaying France to join the conflict on the side of the colonies.
