He becomes infatuated with Peaches Ancream (Kathie Brown), a name chosen by her humorous father, which suits her well as an exotic dancer. The chemistry between them is instant, prompting Martin to consider proposing after just one date. Peaches values honesty above all, a principle that led her to end things with her previous boyfriend, Officer Thorp, who still has feelings for her. When Martin decides to reveal his true self, Peaches is skeptical. Meanwhile, Officer Thorp admits he lied about his background, having given six different stories because he’s an orphan. This revelation makes Peaches lean towards Thorp, whom she believes to be more sincere.
