Tristan finds himself in a chaotic situation as he confronts the challenges posed by an enormous sow named Our Gracie and her rowdy piglets, who are scheduled for castration. To complicate matters, the farm cats become enchanted by the anesthetic-laden scraps, leading them to nap in the most unexpected spots. Meanwhile, Mrs. Clarke, a resilient yet weary elderly woman, is striving to maintain her farm until she can pass it on to her young granddaughter, Mary. As the pressures mount, even with her older granddaughter, Katherine, assisting—who has ambitions to pursue nursing in Africa—Mrs. Clarke feels increasingly overwhelmed.
