The Axeman Cometh (S01E02)

At an auction hosted by Charlie Gimbert, Lovejoy acquires a Welsh dresser and discovers an opulent Arab headdress filled with gold ducats hidden within. Catesby, the son of the deceased owner and just released from prison, claims the dresser was promised to him. Lovejoy decides to return it to Catesby, but keeps the valuable headdress for himself. Soon after, Catesby, now wielding an axe, is on the hunt for Lovejoy. To complicate matters, an officer from Her Majesty's Inland Revenue is also pursuing Lovejoy for his own reasons.
