This documentary offers an intimate glimpse into the brilliance of renowned Japanese animator and director Hayao Miyazaki. For ten years, he permitted a lone filmmaker to document his creative process. Tensions arise while he collaborates with his son, Goro, who is starting his own directorial journey on the film "From Up on Poppy Hill" (2011). As they approach the finish line, a devastating earthquake and nuclear crisis strike Japan, leaving everyone reeling.
