Spider-Man and Agent Venom have been taking down various villains like Beetle, Grizzly, Shocker, and Shriek, suspecting they could be part of Doctor Octopus' Sinister Six. Meanwhile, Arnim Zola enlists Michael Morbius to help create a new symbiote. When Spider-Man, Agent Venom, and Harry Osborn in the Patrioteer armor confront them, they're taken by surprise when the Anti-Venom symbiote is unleashed, taking control of Harry and rendering him immune to traditional symbiote weaknesses. The ensuing clash leaves Agent Venom wounded and Harry slipping into a coma.
