Amidst a professional downturn, Eric surprises Annie by accepting a position as a talk DJ at a college radio station. However, his inaugural shift takes a dark turn when he and his producer receive a call from a student threatening suicide. Meanwhile, Lucy's refusal to hang out with Roxanne places Kevin in a difficult predicament. Tensions rise further when Roxanne requests a different partner from her boss. In another subplot, Ben narrowly avoids arrest while accompanying Simon and Cecilia to an underage club. Meanwhile, Ruthie searches for a way to end her relationship without causing her boyfriend distress.
