The training camp wraps up, and Ryo along with his fellow first-years heads to Akira's house for a barbecue and celebration. Afterward, they go to enjoy a fireworks show with Ayumi and her friends. While exploring the food stalls, Ryo and Sakaki find themselves separated from the group. In this moment of solitude, Ryo gathers his courage to discuss a lingering concern: the difficult issue of ending their doubles partnership. He seeks to understand Sakaki's true feelings, but Sakaki skillfully avoids the topic, unwilling to confront Ryo directly.
