Episode 3 (S04E03)

In 1913, Number 5 becomes the residence of the respectable Frederick and Louisa Pryce Lewis. Through a clue in their family photo album, David traces their younger son Walter’s journey from Australia to the battlefields of Gallipoli and ultimately back to Leeds, only to uncover Walter’s descent into a life of crime. Next, successful textile chemist Percival King and his wife Rose, along with their young daughter, take up residence. Their seemingly happy life shatters when Percival unexpectedly resigns from his job, checks himself into a psychiatric facility, and then mysteriously vanishes. Following them are Laurence and May Bendit, a couple deeply involved in theosophy, who raise their children at Number 5. However, Laurence's fascination with the paranormal and a meeting with an enigmatic clairvoyant jeopardizes their marriage.
