After a long 500-mile journey from France, expats Dave and Sue arrive at the clinic with their border collie, Kaspar, who has been struggling with persistent leg pain that remains difficult to identify. Meanwhile, an eight-year-old pug is in need of elbow surgery, and an Egyptian Mau cat is quickly brought into Fitzpatrick's after suffering a fractured knee from a fall off a second-floor balcony. Noel prepares to operate on the intricate fracture, but cautions that any complications could result in the need for amputation for the kitten.
