Granny requests Jethro to teach her how to drive. However, after just one lesson, he decides to give up. Meanwhile, Mr. Drysdale persuades Jed to buy a trotter. The Clampetts' intention is for the horse to take Granny into town whenever she wishes, eliminating the need to wait for Jethro. When a man shows up with the horse, he also brings along a racing buggy, but the Clampetts mistake it for a typical buggy without sides or a roof.
