For the second straight year, Burning Man has been called off. In response, a defiant group of Burners organized their own unofficial gathering out in the desert. For many attendees, this Renegade Burn felt like a genuine throwback to the festival’s early, raw spirit—while also revealing deeper tensions simmering within the event’s leadership structure.
