Kouichi Sakakibara finds himself in Yomiyama, but his arrival is marred by a collapsed lung that lands him in the hospital. After a delayed start at the local middle school, he befriends a reserved girl sporting an eye patch, whom he had met during his hospital stay. Their bond begins to deepen as they navigate the challenges of school life together.
