As Kevin celebrates his Junior High graduation, he yearns for the comfort of familiarity, but soon realizes that change is inevitable. He finds out that Paul will be attending a private school next year, which adds to his worries. Meanwhile, Winnie grapples with her own uncertainty about the future. The situation becomes even more intense when Kevin is tasked with driving Mrs. Heimer to the hospital as she goes into labor, forcing him to confront the reality of growing up and the transitions ahead.
