Spock, Peter Kirk, and Alex Freeman find themselves trapped on the U.S.S. Copernicus, which is overrun by Regulan Bloodworms and faces imminent destruction. During their predicament, they encounter two researchers on the ship who assert they have developed a remedy for the infestation.
