Creegan and Taylor delve into a case involving a serial killer who has been forwarding details of his crimes to a local reporter, David Laney. While Rivers follows the main suspect to a secluded shack in the woods, his reluctance leads to the tragic death of another victim. Just when they think they have the murderer in custody, Creegan receives an unexpected message warning of yet another impending murder. Their investigation at a warehouse uncovers a new body—the remains of a local MP.
