In the Quickfire Challenge, the chefs face intense scrutiny as they are required to create a multi-layered dessert. Carrie Baird teams up with Padma to select the winner, whose creation will be transformed into a Talenti gelato available across the country. Meanwhile, Gregory Gourdet and Kwame Onwuachi lead the chefs on an exploration of Portland’s eateries showcasing the flavors of the African diaspora. For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs must craft dishes that reflect their tour, which will be judged by the panel and the owners of the featured restaurants.
