RAF Mascot Teddy Bear (S05E02)
Metal worker Dominic Chinea takes on the challenge of restoring a water can that holds sentimental value for its owner, David, who grew up traveling with his fairground family. Despite its nostalgic charm, the can has suffered from rust and leaks. With assistance from silversmith Brenton, Dom sets to work on replacing the bottom panel to breathe new life into it. Meanwhile, master saddler Suzie Fletcher faces the task of repairing a miniature camel saddle, a cherished keepsake from John’s childhood in Malaysia, which has been damaged by a playful puppy. Lastly, teddy bear restorers Amanda and Julie receive Bobby, a 100-year-old RAF mascot bear dressed in a replica uniform. Bobby belonged to an airman who survived a harrowing plane crash in WWII, and his daughters, Kris and Barbara, hope to restore him as a heartfelt tribute to their father.
