As America marks its 200th anniversary, Susan and Bruce Miller relocate their family to an affluent neighborhood in Chicago. Initially embraced by their new neighbors, the Millers quickly realize that a sexual awakening is sweeping through the community. Faced with the dilemma of either participating in this cultural shift or maintaining their traditional values, they must navigate the complexities of their new surroundings.
