Two Steps Back (S04E01)

After years of apartment living, Tammy and Jason decided it was time to buy a house to raise their son. They found a new home that seemed perfect, except for the front staircase, which was plain and in need of an upgrade. They hired a contractor to build a proper cement staircase, but as the two-year warranty came to an end, large chunks of concrete began to crumble. The contractor delayed repairs until the warranty expired, leaving the couple with a hazardous staircase. Mike Holmes and his team ripped out the faulty stairs and discovered numerous errors, including a lack of proper footing support, which caused the concrete to crack in the winter. As they laid new footing, Mike also removed unsightly fake dormers from the roof and repaired a leaking window. The new staircase, reinforced with rebar and microfiber-enhanced concrete, was finished off with a beautiful Durok coating. They also completed a stunning new interlocking stone driveway and a beautifully landscaped front garden. Tammy and Jason were ecstatic to finally take
