Asteroids and comets have significantly shaped our planet, both physically and historically. Since the chaotic beginnings of the solar system, these celestial bodies have repeatedly collided with Earth, causing cataclysmic events that have resulted in mass extinctions. New, groundbreaking theories propose that the dust from these space rocks could contain lethal viruses that might have sparked some of humanity's most devastating pandemics. Although the risk of future impacts persists, these asteroids and comets also possess essential natural resources that could potentially safeguard the future of mankind.
