Carter presents Bill Jennings with an audition tape featuring one of his talented broadcasting students, hoping to swap Christine out for a younger female host to revitalize the show. However, his strategy backfires when Jennings opts to replace Carter instead of Christine. As Hayden revels in Carter's dismissal, Carter rushes to plead with Christine for assistance in reclaiming his job. She agrees to help and meets with Jennings the following morning. Just as the meeting unfolds, Carter barges in, and with Christine’s support, he successfully wins back his position.
