While Amy supports Ephram during his Julliard audition in Boulder, an unexpected romantic encounter prompts her to reveal her blossoming feelings for him. In the meantime, Andy is determined to persuade his mentor, Dr. Douglas (guest-star Philip Baker Hall), that a more dangerous brain surgery is necessary and that he is the right surgeon for the job. Dr. Abbott finds himself at risk of losing his medical practice, as it seems no insurance company will provide coverage. Meanwhile, Bright chooses to skip his graduation ceremony, leaving his family feeling let down.
