Dash is eager to propose to Elly, but she isn't interested in marriage. Meanwhile, Granny and Elly think Dash should focus his affections on Miss Jane instead. To facilitate this, Granny invites Dash over for dinner while Elly dresses down, hoping that Miss Jane will look more appealing. Unfortunately, when Miss Jane shows up in an even simpler outfit, the plan backfires. Elly then borrows a wig to disguise herself, resulting in an unflattering look that further dissuades Dash. Ultimately, Dash ends up taking Miss Jane to a movie premiere together.
