During a jewelry store heist, Ed is critically injured by gunfire, but a mysterious passerby intervenes to save him, disappearing just as the police show up. As the investigation unfolds, it becomes clear that this enigmatic hero is a soldier who has gone AWOL after witnessing the death of a comrade. Driven by a sense of justice, Ed takes it upon himself to clear the soldier's name and prove his innocence against the mounting accusations.
