On the evening of May 14, 1971, six-year-old Ljubica Topic disappeared while playing outside with her older brother and their friends. When her brother returned home, he realized Ljubica was missing. Upon questioning by their mother, he disclosed that a stranger had come up to them asking for help, and Ljubica had gone to assist. A desperate search ensued, but tragically, the little girl was discovered dead just a kilometer from where she had vanished. The identity of her killer and the motive behind this heartbreaking crime remained unsolved for nearly five decades.
