In Heaven, Brenda takes over Lester's construction company and flourishes, with Calvin stepping in as her husband. Pearl has moved in with them, while Rose struggles to cope with the loss of Mary. In contrast, Hell presents a stark reality: Calvin fails and sells the business to Julian for a mere $500. Brenda is expecting a child, and the family faces dire financial hardships. Meanwhile, Rose has married Julian, who has significantly raised the rent on their building.
