Late one night, Kimble encounters Lucey Russell stranded on the roadside due to car trouble. Grateful for his assistance, she offers him shelter for the night. However, the following morning, the police discover the lifeless body of Lars Adams, Lucey’s secret lover, just yards from the breakdown site. Lucey is subsequently arrested for his murder. Although Lars’ wife, Amy, understands it was an accidental death, she chooses to blame Lucey upon learning of the affair. Kimble realizes he can clear Lucey’s name, but doing so may put his own freedom at risk.
