This revelation leaves Maurice feeling uneasy. Meanwhile, Maggie faces a stark reminder of her own mortality when a pilot dies during a flight she was meant to take. The health inspector arrives to evaluate "The Brick," uncovering numerous violations and showing a particular interest in Shelly. In an attempt to maintain a positive attitude, Maggie goes out of her way to be kind, even to Joel, which starts to take a toll on her health. The ex-Soviet continues to propose various items for trade.
