After experiencing a devastating loss, Tess leaves her home to work at a dairy farm, where she becomes enchanted by Angel Clare, the parson's son and a dreamy harpist. As she steals glances at his physique, their connection deepens, leading to romantic strolls among the bluebells, where Angel becomes infatuated with Tess. However, tensions arise when Angel's father favors a more suitable match for his son. While Tess navigates her tumultuous life with a hint of resilience, she can still be seen as frustratingly passive by today’s standards. Nonetheless, their story unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of Thomas Hardy's countryside.
