Ellen arrives with exciting news: she has been honored with the "Woman of the Year" award at the Raytown Country Club that evening. Unbeknownst to her, Mayor Tutwiller has secretly invited Mama and the rest of the family to join as a surprise for Ellen. Meanwhile, Vint is convinced that Mama has misplaced his bowling ball after she claims to have put it in a "safe place." When the family shows up at the country club, Ellen feels embarrassed by their antics. After a dinner that Mama criticizes for being subpar, Mayor Tutwiller kicks off the ceremony by allowing Mama to share a few words. However, her speech turns into a memorable moment that has everyone roaring with laughter.
