A Talent for Deception (S02E07)

Nick and Kate's relationship hits a snag when her ex-boyfriend unexpectedly shows up. Shortly after his arrival, he becomes the main suspect in a hit-and-run case, prompting Nick to ask him to stay put while the investigation unfolds. Meanwhile, a local bank alerts the police about a woman behaving suspiciously. Nick and Phil check it out, only to find out she's actually renowned crime author Amanda Young, researching for her next book. In another subplot, Phil organizes a talent show for his football team, with Greengrass running a betting pool on the winner. Ultimately, it turns out one of Phil's rivals is behind the hit-and-run. Additionally, Claude cashes in some moor land to the MoD and splurges on a flashy pink Chrysler Imperial!
