Aunt Hetty's Ordeal (S02E03)

Muriel Stacey returns to Avonlea, eager to revisit her old school and reunite with her friend Hetty King. However, Hetty feels uneasy about Muriel, whom she views as a rival, and sets out to recruit new students. Meanwhile, Gus Pike has taken a job at the cannery and is eager to improve himself through reading, writing, and gentlemanly skills, much to Hetty's delight. After an accident sidelines Hetty, Muriel steps in as a temporary teacher. Despite her reluctance to take Hetty's place, Muriel organizes a heartfelt tribute for her friend, culminating in Gus performing a fiddle solo to show his appreciation.
