Sharpe's Gold (S03E01)

Summer 1813. Furious after a French retreat slips through British fingers, Sharpe sets out to find the infantry unit that failed to stop them. He discovers the men are deserting, and he’s powerless to halt it. Meanwhile, Ellie Nugent, a relative of Wellington, arrives in camp with her mother, searching for her father—who vanished while hunting for Aztec gold in the nearby hills. Wellington refuses to help and orders them home. With his army critically short of men, he’s struck a deal: 52 captured deserters in exchange for Baker rifles. Sharpe is ordered to oversee the swap, but Ellie and her mother secretly follow.
