On her way to buy groceries, she encounters a homeless veteran and decides to bring him home. To her surprise, he takes charge of the menu, revealing his background as a chef for four decades. Meanwhile, Matt and Mary embark on a road trip that becomes prolonged due to a flat tire. Simon enjoys a day out with his new girlfriend Deena, while Lucy spends time with her boyfriend Jordan. Lastly, Ruthie copes with her loneliness by imagining her old friend Huey has returned for the day.
