Robbie is thrilled when his estranged father, portrayed by guest star Alan Thicke, unexpectedly reenters his life. However, Eric and Annie are skeptical about the father’s intentions, especially when he persuades Robbie to move in with him, defying Eric's objections. Meanwhile, Ruthie seeks Mary’s guidance on how to bypass their parents’ restrictions on purchasing a makeup kit that was denied. Additionally, Annie grows increasingly anxious as Lucy begins to bond with her friend's carefree and neglectful mother. Meanwhile, Simon's frustration with his schoolwork leads to tension with his mother as he prefers to socialize with friends instead.
