Asuka transfers into Shinji's class and quickly moves in with him and Misato. As she tries to fit into life in Japan, the others find themselves adapting to her bold personality. Meanwhile, a new Angel emerges, capable of cloning itself into two identical forms. After a crushing defeat for EVA-01 and EVA-02, NERV faces public disgrace. With the Angel entering a week-long recovery following an N² Mine strike from the JSSDF, Asuka and Shinji must master their synchronization in combat to finally conquer this formidable foe.
