Winter (S02E02)

As a brutal winter sets in, the animals of Farthing struggle to find food, having been unable to stock up due to their recent arrival. Whistler and Speedy generously share some of their fish with the carnivores, but the monotony of the same meals soon becomes tiresome. While out on a hunt, Fox and Vixen encounter Scarface and his mate, Lady Blue. Vixen attempts to engage them in conversation, but Scarface warns her to keep to her territory. Meanwhile, Badger slips on the deep snow and gets injured. The Park Warden discovers him and takes him home to care for him. The other animals grow anxious about Badger's absence. He cleverly convinces the Warden's cat to relay a message that he is safe. However, Kestrel spots the cat speaking to Mole and mistakenly believes Mole is in danger; she swoops down to attack, injuring the cat and sending her crashing to the ground in agony.
