Nick grows wary of a new financial advisor in town who is overly eager to assist residents with their finances, particularly Jo's father. Meanwhile, several locals, including Maggie and Blaketon, receive anonymous letters. Phil is tasked with locating the typewriter used to produce them and discovers it at Claude's home. However, Claude isn't the culprit; he has received a letter too and feels ashamed of its contents. He shows it to Nick, insisting that he keep it confidential. Ultimately, the letters are traced back to the husband of a local widow.
