Bo and Luke take it upon themselves to assist a young orphan who has recently lost his parents by adopting a dog from the local pound. They end up bringing home a basset hound, unaware that it had been stolen from John J. Hooper's dog show and escaped just as the kidnappers arrived in Hazzard. Confused, the criminals mistakenly believe that Flash is the dog they were after, setting off a chain of events that puts everyone in a precarious situation.
