Five years ago, Robby revealed to her wife of twenty-nine years and their two sons that she is transgender—a revelation that shattered her family and her own sense of stability. Already struggling with alcohol, Robby’s drinking spiraled after coming out. Now, terrified of losing her wife and facing life alone for the first time, she’s become a blackout drunk, consuming up to forty ounces of vodka daily. Once a cheerful partygoer, Robby turns increasingly violent when intoxicated. Her family fears for her safety and their own. Without an intervention, Robby risks losing them forever.
