Feeling down, Brenda decides to feign being grounded and skips out on a ski trip with her friends. While in her room, she stumbles upon an old diary belonging to a former resident. Intrigued by the girl's reflections on the tumultuous events and personal struggles of 1968 and ’69, Brenda begins to envision herself along with her family and friends as the characters from those diary entries. The music from that era, including hits like "Monday, Monday" and "For What It's Worth," underscores her daydreams and deepens her connection to the past.
