During March Break, Helen's high school best friend visits Elkford with her daughter, Genesis. Although Genesis is the same age as Sharon, Sharon is less than thrilled about the idea of 'babysitting' someone she barely knows. However, Genesis quickly proves to be an enchanting and vibrant presence, captivating Sharon’s friends, including Dion. As her friends gravitate towards Genesis, Sharon begins to feel overlooked and alienated in her own social circle. Ultimately, she discovers that her friends genuinely value her and realizes that appearances can be deceiving, as the allure of newness isn’t always as wonderful as it seems.
