In "Blood Ties," the Wilson family appears on television to announce a reward, as the Homicide unit faces scrutiny from the press. With pressure mounting, Barnfather seeks a swift resolution to the case. Tragedy strikes when the couple who turned in Junior Bunk are found dead, prompting Falsone and Lewis to investigate. Their young son, the only survivor, provides crucial memories that, along with a recorded message, lead Stivers to suspect a former Narcotics officer's involvement. As the investigation unfolds, the focus shifts to Hal Wilson, whose confession can't be used in court, ultimately leaving the case unresolved as the Wilsons depart Baltimore.
